WINTER

Winter hits us hard, but it hits the mountains even harder. Most of our water comes from this snow: often named ‘the greatest snow on earth.’ I don’t totally disagree. But it isn’t so great when you’re trying to walk through it when it is knee-deep and you have a wicked case of Raynaud syndrome.

There is probably a mythical beast atop this mountain, but I was too cold to investigate.

There was a mythical beast atop this mountain, but I was too cold to carry on a conversation.

No mythical beasts present.

Behold, the tracks of many many many people getting out to get away from people.

Nothing clever to say here. It is just lovely.

This mountain kinda looks like a boob.

This mountain is less like a boob, and more like a giant snow covered mountain.

High above in a helicopter in New Zealand. They know how to make some pretty mountains out there.

This was the view after hours and hours of fog. We didn’t even realized we reached our destination.
